About Sunmi Chang, violin

As the laureate of both the 2007 International Markneukirchen and Sion-Valais International Violin Competitions, Sunmi Chang has performed widely to much acclaim throughout North America and Europe as a soloist and chamber musician. In 2008, she was the soloist of the Yale Philharmonia's tour to Seoul, Beijing, and Shanghai, performing the Beethoven Concerto. She studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England and at the Hanns Eisler Musikhochschule in Berlin with Prof. Eberhard Feltz. An active chamber musician, Ms. Chang won first prize at the Plowman Chamber Music Competition and has collaborated with many renowned artists. She was invited to take part in the Rising Stars Series at Caramoor, Music@Menlo and Chamber Music Northwest. She completed her studies with Peter Oundjian, Ani Kavafian, and Soovin Kim in 2009, earning the Artist Diploma and the Master of Music degree at Yale University, where she won the concerto competition in 2006. She was a tenured member of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra from 2009 to 2015 and she recently completed a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan in 2020.

About Steven Pologe, cello

Steven Pologe has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, Europe, Sweden, Taiwan, South Korea, Thailand, New Zealand and Canada. His CDs include works by Jon Deak for solo cello and piano trio, the Lev Abeliovich Piano Trio, and two discs recorded with the Oregon String Quartet (string quartets by William Grant Still and a disc titled The Oregon String Quartet and All That Jazz). Since joining the UO music faculty, he has appeared frequently as concerto soloist with a number of Northwest orchestras and as principal cellist of the Oregon Bach Festival and the Eugene Symphony. He also performs and teaches each summer at the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival.

About Eunhye Grace Choi, piano

Korean pianist Eunhye Grace Choi joined Eugene's Chamber Music Amici as a core musician in 2019, and is now Artistic Director. She has performed extensively throughout the United States, France, Belgium, the UK, and South Korea, and has recorded for Naxos, Emeritus, and Origin Classical. Her performances have also been broadcast on NPR's Performance Today.

A versatile keyboardist, she was harpsichord soloist for J.S. Bach's Brandenburg Concerto cycle and collaborated with Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg in Vivaldi's Four Seasons. She is frequently invited as a resident pianist at competitions and conventions, including the International Clarinet Association's ClarinetFest and the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and Bassoon Symposium.

Grace served as Collaborative Piano Faculty for six years at Eastern Music Festival, where she was the principal keyboardist of the Festival Orchestra with conductor Gerard Schwarz. She has also served as music faculty and collaborative pianist at The University of Oregon (2017-2018) and Tennessee Tech University (2013-2017). In Oregon, in addition to Amici, Grace performs regularly with the Oregon Bach Festival and Eugene Symphony.
