Come sing or listen to the Christmas portion of G.F. Handel's Messiah, under the direction of Dr. Jason Anderson. Hosted in partnership with members of the Issaquah Philharmonic Orchestra, this is a benefit event for Issaquah Community Services "Merry Christmas Fund." 100% of donations assist families in need.

Who should attend? Singers of all ages, abilities, and skill levels, and community members who enjoy hearing this beautiful music.

The orchestra is full. Instrumentalists should contact Morven Balmidiano (warmsun06@gmail.com) to be added to the wait list.

About Teresa Lin, mezzo-soprano

Teresa Lin, soprano, has been a freelance singer in the Seattle area for over a decade. Notable performances include Handel’s Messiah and Mozart's Requiem with Choir of the Sound and Thalia Symphony, and regular anthem outings at Mariners games for the past 14 seasons. Engaging communities through music is her passion, and she is a co-founder of Sing! Choir Camp and serves on the vocal faculty for Midsummer Musical Retreat.

About Jason Anderson, conductor

Jason Allen Anderson, baritone, is equally at home on the stage and in the church as a performer, singer, conductor, organist, liturgist and composer. He hails from Franklin, Indiana and is a graduate of Butler University (B.M. in Music Education), Portland State University (M.M. in Conducting), and the University of Washington (D.M.A. in Choral Conducting). He studied conducting with Henry Leck, Bruce Browne, and Geoffrey Boers.

A man of diverse musical interests and talents, Dr. Anderson is currently Associate for Liturgical Arts and Youth Formation and Organist/Choirmaster at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Issaquah, Washington. In July 2009, he was named Director of The Compline Choir in residence at St Mark's Episcopal Cathedral in Seattle, Washington. He serves on the Liturgy & Arts Commission for the (Episcopal) Diocese of Olympia and is on the faculty for the Midsummer Musical Retreat.

In addition to his musical abilities, Dr. Anderson is also a collector of hymnals. His oldest is the Hymn and Tone Book, published in 1886.
