In mid-December, we gather to reflect on the transfigurations of winter and the motions for which it calls: tending to "inner gardens," in the words of the Austrian poet and writer Rainer Maria Rilke.

A chorus is a body that practices the balance of melody and harmony; the nexus of the individual and the collective. In winter, there comes a necessity to cultivate our inner gardens in order to sustain our spirit in the absence of the outer. Like a garden, we are inextricably interwoven with our surroundings. We recognize our positions in blossoming ecosystems, and aim to tend to these gardens in ourselves and each other, to share resources, and to serve the health of it all.
