Puget Chamber Winds presents its 2024 Winter Concert, with a program of Rossini's Overture to Semiramide arranged by Patrick Clements for 12 winds and bass, Gordon Jacob's Old Wine in New Bottles for 13 winds, and Richard Strauss' Suite for 13 winds in B-flat major, Op. 4.
In recognition of the passing of Peter Schickele AKA P.D.Q. Bach last week, Puget Chamber Winds is adding a short P.D.Q. Bach piece to the beginning of this program: Fugue of the Volga Boatmen.
Matthew Kruse conducts musicians from Seattle-area community orchestras and bands.
Admission is free, with donations accepted.
About Puget Chamber Winds
Puget Chamber Winds consists of players of wind instruments (and occasionally other instruments) from Seattle-area community orchestras and bands. We perform chamber music in tradition of classical-era Harmoniemusik, such as Mozart's wind serenades, and other later compositions for similar instrumentation.

Matthew Kruse has been the music director for the Orchestra of Flight since the Fall of 2005. As an accomplished musician, conductor, and music teacher, Matthew enjoys sharing his love of music with the group and the greater community.
In addition to his work with the Orchestra of Flight, Matthew teaches band and orchestra at Lake Washington High School and directs the chancel choir at Redmond United Methodist Church. He is also a French horn teacher and a horn section member with Harmonia Orchestra & Chorus.
