The PCSO Spectacular is a one-of-a-kind musical event that defies categorization. Envisioned as a celebration of both virtuosity and versatility, our spectacular brand of musical party invites everyone to enjoy stellar musicians in peak form- Featuring local superstar Jimmie Herrod and special guest Bloco Alegria. Portland's Rio-style Samba band celebrates Brazil's vibrant music, dance, and culture. Both a VIP Fundraiser and a thrilling public concert that showcases Portland Columbia Symphony's commitment to friendly and accessible orchestral entertainment – this event balances outstanding musical experiences with a lack of pretension and lots of flair! About Jimmie Herrod, voice
Jimmie Herrod is a singer/songwriter from Tacoma, WA living in Portland, OR. He holds a Bachelors and Masters in Music from Cornish and Portland State University (respectively,) where he also previously taught. Since the fall of 2017 he's toured with the highly celebrated international act Pink Martini, with whom he recorded the EP Tomorrow. In 2021, Herrod was a finalist on America's Got Talent (AGT) and also competed on AGT All Stars in 2023. He's been featured with the San Francisco Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra, as well as PBS. In November of 2022, he released his most recent EP, Elated.

Bloco Alegria is Portland's newest Rio style samba band. We're a community of people who love samba, and we celebrate the music, dance, and culture of Brasil. Playing the heart-pumping rhythms of Rio's carnaval parades is what gives this band its unique sound and vibrancy.
