The award-winning Oregon Sinfonietta, now in its 51st season and conducted by Dr. Donald L. Appert, is a full symphony orchestra of roughly 70 members that draws together community musicians from the greater Portland metro area. The Sinfonietta offers four free concerts per season. On Sunday, January 21, 2024, the orchestra performs Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 in A major ("Italian"). In addition, one of this season’s young Concerto Competition winners, Ziqi (Kevin) He, will perform Wagenseil's Concerto for Trombone in E-flat major.
The concert begins at 3pm at the Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church in Portland. Although donations are always welcome, there is no charge to attend.
