Portland Opera's Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master Nicholas Fox will lead the Piano contestants at Lincoln Recital Hall, Room 75 at 1pm. Two Portland Opera Resident Artists – tenor Roland Hawkins II and collaborative pianist Claire Forstman – will lead Monday Musical Club's voice contestants at 3pm in the same location.
These masterclasses are free and open to the public.
About Monday Musical Club of Portland
Monday Musical Club was founded in 1904 and has supported music in Portland throughout the years.
The scholarship program began in 1965 and today funds a program that awards thousands of dollars annually to music students age 14 to 22. Students participate in an audition each spring. Winners are selected by professional adjudicators. Scholarships are supported by fundraising, bequests and contributions from members.
