Our 2023-24 season's repertoire has the theme "Quotations," as many of the compositions either quote or mimic a variety of themes or nature sounds. Among them is Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 5, which quotes Martin Luther's chorale, A Mighty Fortress is Our God, in the fourth movement. Sounds of nature can be heard in Dvořák's In Nature's Realm. Azerbaijani, Turkish, Uzbek and Kazakh folk songs are heard in Ippolitov-Ivanov's Turkish Fragments.
