The centerpiece of Carnegie Hall’s upcoming season explores one of the most complex and consequential chapters in modern human history: Germany's Weimar Republic of 1919–1933. In this performance, the New York Classical Players perform music from that tumultuous time.

Despite a progressive new democratic constitution, Germany developed from World War I into a period of economic hardship, social inequality, and political polarization. In the face of the turmoil and upheaval of the time, cultural life thrived as artists sought bold and innovative paths for creative expression and commentary.

Experience Hindemith's emotional Piano Sonata No. 2 and his thrilling and virtuosic String Trio No. 1, followed by Erich Wolfgang Korngold's innovative Suite for Left Hand Piano and Strings, Op. 23. Celebrate the rich artistic heritage of the Weimar Republic era through chamber music performed by New York Classical Players.
