"Moe" Eric Weisner — Selected works

Every Monday, with occasional exceptions for holidays or special events, The South Hudson Music Project presents New Music Mondays from 7:30pm-9pm at The Royal Room. Typically they are followed by the Monday Night Jazz Jam, at 9pm, hosted by Thomas Marriott.

New Music Mondays focuses on improvised music, experimental music, and the outer boundaries of jazz. Tonight's featured group is Odd Balance Quintet.

Doors: 7pm

The Royal Room is all ages until 10pm.

About Odd Balance Quintet

Odd Balance is a string quintet which aims to contribute inventive yet approachable modern chamber music to the Seattle area’s music scene. Their current repertoire consists entirely of works written by local bassist and composer Moe Weisner, whose music carries influences from Claude Debussy, Wayne Shorter, Frank Zappa, and Alice in Chains.

About Aleida Gehrels, viola

A versatile Seattle-based violist, Aleida Gehrels excels in both contemporary and classical music. She has toured with Macklemore, appeared on KEXP with ODESZA, and featured on Netflix's Love Is Blind. Her collaborations extend to artists like Father John Misty, Perfume Genius, and Smokey Robinson. In the classical sphere, Aleida has played with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and The Sound Ensemble, featuring in live broadcasts on KING FM. She has also been engaged with the Fifth Avenue Theatre, Seattle Modern Orchestra, Bellingham Festival of Music, and Village Theatre, showcasing her broad musical reach.
