One year ago a tradition was born, and now the Austin Saxophone Ensemble and Austin Brass Collective join forces once again. ASE and ABC reunite to present music from Igor Stravinsky's landmark The Firebird. This performance will feature stunning new world premiere arrangements by ASE's Crystal Alexander and Ben Kessler and ABC's Matthew Kundler, showcasing the combined power of brass and saxophones in this majestic and epic piece.

Additionally, the Austin Saxophone Ensemble will delight you with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's classic The Marriage of Figaro, and the Austin Brass Collective will astonish with selections from Edward Elgar's masterful Enigma Variations.

About Austin Saxophone Ensemble

The Austin Saxophone Ensemble (ASE) was conceived in the Spring of 2013, when a dozen colleagues gathered to read through music and discuss the formation of a standing ensemble. The group consists of professional musicians in the greater Austin area as performers, band directors, teachers, and composers.

Founded in 2021, Austin Brass Collective (ABC) is an ensemble dedicated to bringing brass music education and performance experiences to the Central Texas community. ABC aims to inspire, educate and connect our community through accessible, fun, and inclusive brass musical experiences. Through creative programming and arrangements, ABC has reached 600+ audience members across many different settings, including regional music conferences, concert halls, schools, and retirement homes in its inaugural season.
