Celebrating 90 Years: Christian Wolff

Christian Wolff, who rose to prominence as a member of the celebrated New York School (with Cage, Feldman, and Brown), continues to be a vibrant creative force as he enters his tenth decade. To mark the occasion, Issue Project Room and the audacious violin duo String Noise join forces to present this impressive mini-marathon.
A stellar lineup of musicians, including Wolff on piano and melodica, will play works spanning his entire career, from Duo for 2 Violins (1950), to What If?, a world premiere composed for the occasion. The program also includes a world premiere by String Noise Sounds, a quartet consisting of Pauline Kim Harris and Conrad Harris (aka String Noise) with Samuel Fibich Yulsman (piano and synthesizers) and Jesse Cox (drums and cymbals).
About String Noise Sounds
A dream project which began as reinforcement to String Noise (the violin duo of Pauline Kim Harris and Conrad Harris) with a percussive-based duo, comprised of Jessie Cox on drums/cymbals and Sam Yulsman on the piano/synthesizer, String Noise Sounds embarks on a sonic journey into the unfamiliar, emerging upon a new space we create together.
