The DeKalb Symphony's March concert features an array of music including Rodrigo's Concerto de Aranjuez featuring classical guitarist Luther Enloe.

About DeKalb Symphony Orchestra

DeKalb Symphony Orchestra presents concerts of traditional and contemporary symphonic repertoire, seeking both the highest possible level of artistic quality and the advancement of musical awareness and participation among ourmusicians and diverse audiences.

Membership in DeKalb Symphony Orchestra is by audition. Of the more than 80 players in the full orchestra, only a handful are paid a small stipend to act as principal players. The others are volunteer players from the community. A recent study concluded that each player in DSO devotes approximately 200 hours per year to the Orchestra’s rehearsals and performances and that the average member serves for 10 years or more.

About Luther Enloe, classical guitar

Classical guitarist Luther Enloe has received international acclaim for the expressive command of his live performances from both concert presenters and audience members alike. Luther Enloe’s programs offer an exciting variety of Spanish and Latin American masterpieces as well as contemporary works from the U.S.A. that can be appreciated by all audiences.

Enloe has performed concerts at the I Semana da Música, Literatura, História e Memória do IFPI, in Teresina, Brazil, Ifestival Internacional de Música e Violão Clássico na Joia de Campus, in Pedro II, Brazil, III Seminário Internacional de Violão (IFCE-UFC), in Fortaleza, Brazil, the Texas A&M International Guitar Symposium and Ensemble Competition, the Memphis International Guitar Festival, the Louisville Guitar Society, and Troy University Guitar Festival and Competition, among many others. Television broadcasts of Luther Enloe’s solo and chamber performances are frequently aired in Atlanta on Georgia Public Broadcasting’s Knowledge Channel.

A dedicated teacher, Luther Enloe holds the positions of Artist Affiliate in Guitar at Georgia State University and Emory University in Atlanta, GA. In addition to earning Bmus, MM, and DMA degrees at the University of Georgia with John Sutherland, he studied sixteen pieces in nine Masterclass settings with American virtuoso Christopher Parkening. Luther Enloe is a Muiderman Guitars sponsored artist as well as a Hill Guitar Company Signature Artist and performs on both a 2018 Kevin Muiderman guitar and 2006 Kenny Hill Signature guitar.
