Duke Ellington — Selected works

Listen to a jazz legend’s most popular tunes.

Take the A-Train to a special afternoon of music paying tribute to the beloved jazz composer and bandleader! Conducted by Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser, the National Symphony Orchestra performs this swinging session as part of the Kennedy Center's season-wide Ellington 125 celebration.

Most enjoyed by ages 5+.

This is a sensory-friendly performance. Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to all families, including those with children with autism or other sensory sensitivities. If you order these performances and do not require these Accessibility accommodations, your family is still very much welcome to attend.

Come early for a Musical PLAYspace! Prior to each performance, the NSO Volunteer Council’s Musical PLAYspace gives children the opportunity to try out the instruments they’ll see played on the stage.

Stay after for a Creative Conversation: Following the performance on Sunday, March 17 at 2pm, young audience members can ask questions and hear stories from the show’s artists and creative team.
