Over the last century, the nations of the Baltic Sea in northern Europe have been a hotbed of choral activity. Sweden led the way with Hugo Alfvén and Wilhelm Stenhammar, and continues with composers like the minimalist Thomas Jennefelt today. Coming from across the water, Estonians like Arvo Pärt and Veljo Tormis have embraced a sonorous tone palette unlike any other. Music from Finland and Latvia round out this northern extravaganza.
Two performances:
- Saturday, March 23, 7:30pm at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church
- Sunday, March 24, 3pm at Eastside Baha'i Center
