Though the choir sometimes performs classical choral music, this concert is much lighter, with romance-flavored songs ranging from a ukulele duo to pop tunes by Queen and the Beatles. The choir will perform two songs by Morten Lauridson, a Pacific Northwest native who became a choral professor at USC and was honored with a National Medal of Arts. Also on the program is the hauntingly beautiful Only in Sleep by Latvian native Ēriks Ešenvalds.

The choir will also perform Bohemian Rhapsody and Somebody to Love by Freddie Mercury and "Seasons of Love" from the musical Rent. Women of the choir will perform The Rose and male singers will sing the Billy Joel doo-wop song The Longest Time. Members of the choir will sing solos on many of the numbers.

Also on the program are:

— Grammy award winning finger-style guitarist Doug Smith of Vancouver with his wife, flutist Judy Koch;

— The Ukuladies, a duo from Boston that includes Stephanie Stetson and Vancouver native Kirsten Hart;

— The Bard Owls, a local folk rock group made up of Scott Hewitt, Brian LeVene and Mike Lambe; and

— The Tsibikova sisters, a trio who will sing in Russian.

Performances on Feb. 24 & 25.
