This program includes two NY Phil debuts: conductor Elim Chan and cellist Sol Gabetta, the latter performing Martinů's bustling First Cello Concerto. Chan also leads in Rimsky-Korsakov's glittering evocation of stories from One Thousand and One Nights, as well as Chickasaw composer Jerod Impichchaachaaha' Tate's tribute to Hopi and Pueblo Indian music.
