To celebrate the legacy of W. Ovid Collins, Jr., a founding violist with the NPO, we present the winners of our annual Concerto and Composition Competitions. The concert will be anchored by a piece with over 100 musicians on stage: The Planets.
About Michael "Mickey" Rybiski, double bass
Michael "Mickey" Rybiski began playing the bass in college while attending McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. After only three years of study, Mr. Rybiski won the McNeese St. University Concerto Competition. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Music Performance degree in 1998. He earned the Master of Music Performance degree from The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 2002.
