About Hsing-Hui Hsu, clarinet

Hsing-Hui started playing the clarinet by accident. When her elementary school introduced her class to band instruments, she originally wanted to play the trombone. However, her mother, fearing what the neighbors would think, convinced her to try clarinet. Hsing-Hui went on to attend Interlochen Arts Camp as the Emerson Scholar from Maryland and Rice University, where she received a Bachelors of Music in Clarinet Performance. While working as a software development engineer at Amazon Web Services, she was one of the founding members of the Amazon Symphony Orchestra and served as Music Director for four years. Besides playing clarinet, Hsing-Hui also enjoys baking, gardening, playing piano, and going on hikes with her dog, Archer.
