The dynamic young quartet igniting the chamber music circuit and eminent pianist and MacArthur “Genius” Grant recipient Sir Stephen Hough bring their inspired collaboration to our stage. Their program showcases Hough as pianist-composer with his "Les six rencontres" ("The Six Encounters"), a jagged, jazzy quartet conjuring 1920s Paris, inspired by chamber music masterpieces of Ravel and Dutilleux, and conceived by him as "a missing link of sorts" between their music. The artists come together for Brahms's brooding F minor Piano Quintet, the ideal canvas for the refinement and beauty of Hough's artistry.
