Presenting SYSO's Winter Series, with performances by two of our Academic Year Orchestras: Prelude String, conducted by Wesley Hunter; and Youth Symphony Orchestra, conducted by SYSO Music Director Juan Felipe Molano.
Join us for an afternoon of performances that capture the grandiosity of the cosmos—a dynamic program with works by Soon Hee Newbold, Brian Balmages, and Gustav Holst's The Planets.
A world-premiere work by composer Bobby Ge, winner of the 2021 Barlow Consortium Prize, will debut under Maestro Molano's baton.

About Juan Felipe Molano, conductor
Juan Felipe Molano brings 20 years of vibrant teaching and performing experience to the position of SYSO Music Director. His career includes conducting positions with top professional and youth orchestras throughout Europe, the United States, Asia, South, and Central America. Since 2014, he has served as Conductor of Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA), a program of the Los Angeles Philharmonic that puts the transformative power of music-making into the hands of young people who would not otherwise have access to it.
