Sputter Box is finishing up their 6th season together, which calls for a celebration! Join Kathryn, Alina, and Peter for a night of music, socializing, refreshments, and merch giveaways on April 19, 2024 at 7pm at Tenri Cultural Institute of New York in Manhattan. The evening's program includes pieces Sputter Box has commissioned over the past 6 years, including a preview of a multimedia work The Body Unfolds by Mattia Maurée and Pampi and Silen Wellington's by the cauldron [in your hips], which was commissioned by Kinds of Kings as part of their Bouman Fellowship. It will also feature a new arrangement by Martha Callison Horst and works by Victor Ekimovsky, Dalton Regnier, and Filippo Scaramucci.

Proceeds from this event will support Sputter Box's 2024-2025 season, including their Sputter (PLUGS IN THE) Box project which is the ensemble's first ever concert with electronics. There is a range of ticket prices for this event that include drink tickets, merchandise, concert tickets, commission dedications, and more! There is also an option to donate if you would like to support Sputter Box without attending the gala.

About Sputter Box

A Sputter Box performance is a captivating and unique experience from start to finish. While only a trio (clarinet, voice, percussion), this ensemble can move from "mindfully constructed textures that are light as a feather, and then turn on a dime to explode into something practically orchestral without missing a beat" (Michael Genese). As the pioneers for the unique instrumentation, this New York City based ensemble is committed to building a diverse and exciting repertoire by collaborating with living composers and artists.
