Norwegian sounds fill the stage at Carnegie Hall in "A Soul Filled Journey" with Music of Ola Gjeilo, one of the most performed living composers in the choral world.

Known for his distinctive soundworld that evolves a style described as cinematic and evocative, with a lush, harmonious sound, the concert features Gjeilo's new work Twilight Mass commissioned by DCINY, as well as many of his best-known pieces like Sacred Heart, Across the Vast, Eternal Sky, Dark Night of the Soul, and Luminous Night of the Soul. Alongside hundreds of singers and the Distinguished Concerts Orchestra with Gjeilo accompanying them on piano, conductors Dr. Irene Messoloras and Dr. José Daniel Flores-Caraballo take audiences on A Soul Filled Journey with Anna Schubert as soloist.

Gjeilo draws influence from his Nordic background and his adopted country, America. The music he creates has a cinematic, crystalline quality that is unique to modern choral music. With improvisation-flavored keyboard performances, he accompanies his compositions as a pianist.
