Capital City Chorus: Requiem by Herbert Howells & 'It is Happiness' by Joan Szymco
Free (donations gratefully accepted)
- Daniel Colgan, conductor
- Vicki Jardine-Tobin, conductor
Come experience the 120 voices of the Capital City Chorus Mixed Choir and Chorale! The Requiem (Mixed Choir) is an a cappella work, only about 20 minutes in length, by British composter Herbert Howells. Its very intricate, gorgeous harmonies create an ethereal experience with a truly unique sound. It is Happiness (Chorale) is an energetic piece featuring a string quartet by local Washington composer Joan Szymco. We hope you can join us for this concert featuring these two amazing works.
Performances run May 3-5.
