Judith Widrig – Past Concerts
Pianist Judith Widrig is a native of Syracuse, N.Y. She received a doctorate in piano from the University of Colorado in May of 2000, and piano performance degrees from The Hartt School of Music and The University of Minnesota. Prior to commencement of her doctoral work, Judith was collaborative pianist at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. She has also studied at the Banff Centre for the Arts with full scholarship, at the Schweitzer Institute, and at the Holzhausen Music Festival in Germany. Judith was a part-time instructor at the University of Colorado, and has taught private and class piano at the University of Minnesota.
Judith is active in the Northwest as a solo and chamber musician and is a founding member of the Bellingham Chamber Players. She frequently performs with faculty from the Western Washington University Music Department, and has played with orchestras on both coasts, including appearances as concerto soloist with the Whatcom and Skagit Symphony Orchestras. Judith has performed on several radio broadcasts, including WQXR in New York City, and has given concerts in Alaska and Europe as well as the East Coast. In her spare time, Judith enjoys hiking, reading, biking, yoga, gardening, and international travel.
