Our spring concert draws its pieces from "A Year of Deep Listening," a project of the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer. For twelve months beginning May 30, 2022, the center celebrated what would have been composer Pauline Oliveros's 90th year by publishing a text score every day, sourced from hundreds of composers worldwide.

About Sam Klapper, violin
Sam Klapper offers an eclectic feel to music of all kinds on his violin by fusing the acoustic, electric, cultural, and the avant-garde. His studies range from working with California-based teachers such as Igor Veligan & Antoine Van Dongen to performing in the underground West Coast bass electronic music scene on violin with producers such as Lavender Fields & Blissai. He is deeply influenced by intersectional artists of all kinds: Prince, Chick Corea, Jennifer Higdon, Kamasi Washington, Matt Haze, G Jones, Tsuruda, as well as many artists from the Wormhole Music crew. Samuel also has a BA in Political Economy from UC Berkeley which landed him on the path of the hermeneutical endeavor to fuse horizons through his art on both an intellectual and spiritual level.
