Evolution Contemporary Music Series – Past Concerts

The Evolution Contemporary Music Series has made Baltimore a destination for outstanding new music and musicians since 2005. On the occasion of its 15th anniversary, Elizabeth Nonemaker of the Baltimore Sun wrote that the Evolution Series "has continued to set the bar: not just for what concerts can do, but how they can make you feel." The series has presented or premiered works by over 100 living composers – performed by acclaimed musicians from Baltimore and beyond – and celebrated the work of artists ranging from Björk to Toni Morrison to Stevie Wonder. Featured guests have included Marin Alsop, music director of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra; Pulitzer Prize-winning composers John Luther Adams, Caroline Shaw, and Julia Wolfe; and New Yorker music critic Alex Ross.
